Caspar de Gelmini

Caspar de Gelmini, born in 1980, Berlin. Is a German-Italian composer and musicologist.

Gelmini was a student in composition at the Music School Kreuzberg (now Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg ) and intern at the Deutsche Oper Berlin . He then studied composition and theory at the conservatories in Rostock ( University of Music and Drama Rostock ), Weimar ( College of Music Franz Liszt Weimar ), Stockholm ( Royal Academy of Music Stockholm ), Basel (Music Academy Basel), Salzburg ( Mozarteum ), Stuttgart ( University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart ) and Paris ( IRCAM ) and ( Paris Conservatory ). Since 2017 he is doing his doctorate at theUniversity of the Arts Berlin. His teachers are and were: Helmut Zapf , Peter Manfred Wolf , Michael Obst , Annette Schlünz, Pär Lindgren, Georg Friedrich Haas , Michel Roth, Tristan Murail, Marco Stroppa, Frédéric Durieux and Hèctor Parra. He attended composition courses in Darmstadt (holiday courses), Donaueschingen (Next Generation), Graz (impulse), Paris (IRCAM) and Strasbourg (Musica) with Helmut Lachenmann , Mauricio Kagel , Dieter Schnebel, Philippe Manouryand others. Since 2010 he has been working on concertante radio plays with the author Jan Decker: Japanese Miniatures (2012) and Leipzig Noir 1914 (2014).
